The transfer window finally seems to have slowed for Celtic, but there are other matters at hand now as apparently Chelsea are eager to take goalkeeper Craig Gordon off their hands, according to the Daily Telegraph. Gordon, a 34 year old Scottish international, played five seasons at Sunderland before moving north of the border.

Gordon would be an ideal replacement for Asmir Begovic at the backup goalkeeper position. Begovic has continued to be linked with a move away to various clubs. One such club is Bournemouth, who are desperate to get a more consistent goalkeeper than Artur Boruc in their net.

This looks like it would be a solid move for Chelsea if Begovic leaves. In Begovic, they have by far the top backup goalkeeper in the league. But if they can sell him for the right amount and get Gordon for cheap, they could make yet another great deal.

Who would’ve ever thought that Chelsea would make so many great deals? At any rate, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers would likely sell in order to bring in a younger and more footballing goalkeeper in a matter of time, anyway!
