According to reports by French news outlet, RMC Sport, Tottenham Hotspur have tabled an offer for teenage striker Calvin Tshilumba. The France U-17 international plies his trade at Ligue 2 side Laval, and only just made his senior debut, last Friday, in a 3-1 Coupe de France defeat at Avranches.
Following the recent trend of young French teenagers going on to become huge stars on the other side of the English Channel—Anthony Martial and Ousmane Dembele come to mind—the North London side reportedly want to snap the young striker up ahead of the potential rivals.
This move, in part, appears to be encouraged by summer signing Vincent Janssen’s inability to find the back of the net, with the Netherlands international yet to score a goal from open play since his move from AZ Alkmaar.
Coach Mauricio Pochettino has publicly expressed confidence in his man, but it has become apparent that another forward must be called in to substitute in the absence of talisman Harry Kane.
