Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce has reportedly identified Tottenham full-back Ben Davies as a potential transfer target in the ongoing transfer window.

The Sunday Express has claimed that Palace wants to bring in a left-back in January as a replacement for Papa Souare, who has been sidelined following a road accident and is not expected to make a comeback this season.

The Wales international is currently behind Danny Rose in the pecking order at White Hart Lane and could prefer a move in search of regular football. The 23-year-old has managed only three league starts this season.

Davies has proved to be a decent backup option for Spurs whenever he has been called upon this season and could be a vital addition to the Eagles.

However, it’s very unlikely that Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino would allow his player to leave. The North London club are set to participate in Europa League in the second half of the season, and Davies is bound to get playing time in the second-tier European competition.
