Chelsea Strongest Possible Lineup vs Peterborough: Batshuayi, Zouma and Begovic to start

Chelsea’s wonderful 13 match winning run came to a disappointing end following a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night and the result proves that the Blues still have a lot of work to do before thinking about lifting the Premier League title.

Now Chelsea will be attempting to get over the disappointment as they prepare to open their FA Cup campaign this weekend and having been handed a clash against League One outfit Peterborough United, Antonio Conte will surely be keen on his side to claim a victory on the day.

Here is the strongest possible Barcelona lineup for the clash against Peterborough –

Goalkeeper

Asmir Begovic has been patiently waiting in the sidelines throughout the course of the campaign so far and the Bosnian international will surely be handed a chance on Sunday.

Everyone knows that Begovic is a top class goalkeeper and he will now be looking to put in a strong display to help Chelsea continue their fine defensive record this season.

Defence

The backline of Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill and David Luiz has been performing admirably so far this season and given that they have hardly missed any minutes on the pitch, Conte might just use the clash on Sunday to give them some much needed rest.

Young Kurt Zouma and veteran Branislav Ivanovic look certain to be starting but with John Terry currently out injured, one of the three aforementioned Chelsea first choice centre backs look set to continue in the lineup.

Midfield

Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso will probably start again in the wing-back positions but there looks set to be some changes at the middle of the park for Chelsea.

The duo of N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic may be handed a respite, meaning that Cesc Fabregas is certain to be starting at the middle of the Park.

Alongside Fabregas, Nathaniel Chalobah looks the most likely candidate to take his place in the lineup but Ruben Loftus-Cheek also remains in contention.

Willian will be taking one of the positions in the wings while Pedro also might start; resulting in Eden Hazard dropping to the bench.

Attack

Diego Costa has been playing non-stop this season and the Spaniard is likely to be handed a rest, with Michy Batshuayi getting his much awaited chance to lead the line for Chelsea.
