According to reports from the Metro, Premier League outfit Chelsea have shortlisted four players to pursue during the January transfer window.
The 3-0 defeat against Arsenal a few months ago has proven to be the unlikely catalyst for success for Chelsea this season, as following the humiliation by their rivals; the Blues have gone on a fantastic run of five match winning run.
More impressively, Chelsea have won all the five games in very convincing fashion by scoring 16 goals and conceding none.
Conte planning to strengthen his Chelsea side
On current form, many feel that Chelsea are genuine contenders to claim the Premier League title this season and it has to be said that the Blues perhaps look the most in-form team in England at the moment.
That said though, a perfectionist such as Antonio Conte is still looking at various ways to improve his squad and it is widely believed that the Italian manager will be bringing in a couple of players to Stamford Bridge in January.
Signing a central defender as well as a central midfielder seems to be the requirement for Chelsea at the moment and the duo of Leonardo Bonucci and Radja Nainggolan have consistently been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent times.
Keane wanted by Manchester United
However, Bonucci and Nainggolan seem unlikely to be sold by their respective clubs and as a result, Chelsea are currently looking at other targets as well.
Now according to reports from the Metro, claims have been made that Chelsea have shortlisted the quartet of Michael Keane, Antonio Rudiger, Alessio Romagnoli and Marco Verratti as targets to pursue in January.
To fulfill their need to sign a new centre back, Chelsea are hopeful of luring one of Keane, Rudiger or Romagnoli, while Verratti has been viewed as the potential replacement for Cesc Fabregas, who is expected to be leaving London this winter.
