Chelsea are currently considering a £30 million swoop for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Oscar De Marcos, according to reports from Spanish publication El Desmarque (via talkSPORT)
Chelsea have made a decent start to their season under new manager Antonio Conte but it has been widely reported that the Italian boss is not entirely happy with the squad currently at his disposal.
Therefore, a host of players are expected to arrive to Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window and reports emerging out of Spain claim that the Blues are currently considering a swoop for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Oscar De Marcos.
According to El Desmarque, Chelsea have contacted Athletic regarding De Marcos’ signature and are already laying groundwork over a potential move during the January transfer window.
De Marcos has been a key figure for Athletic since making his debut for the club back in 2009 and it is believed that the Basque side will only sell the 27-year-old for a fee in the region of around £30 million.
Cesc Fabregas is certainly not one of Conte’s favourite players and De Marcos could well prove to be a more than capable replacement for the Spanish international at London.
