Chelsea are keen to keep a hold on their 20-year-old defender Andreas Christensen. They have rejected a bid from Borussia Monchengladbach to make their 2-year loan deal a permanent transfer. Chelsea realize the potential he possesses and in order to make him more mature they want him to get more experience of first team football in the Bundesliga, reports Standard Sport.

Not all of the Chelsea youngsters have enjoyed a good time in their loan spell at various clubs and very few of them return to Chelsea for first team action. Andreas Christensen has enjoyed the support of Chelsea management, as they are very keen on making him the future of the Club.

They could have signed him right away before the loan deal had expired, but Conte is not interested to risk young blood with the responsibility of leading Chelsea’s defense in his debut season. Even Christensen himself is keen to start his new season with Monchengladbach and sparkle.

Chelsea surely see him as a future partner of Kurt Zouma in Chelsea’s defense, but this transfer window they are after experienced legs who can read the game well and play with aggression. Also, Chelsea rejected a £14.5 million bid from Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this week.
