Chelsea are reportedly linked with Barcelona’s Arda Turan. The Turkish international had a very odd year since his departure from Atletico Madrid last summer, as he spent his time on loan until January 2016 to be available for Barcelona, pertaining to their transfer ban.
After landing in the Catalan based club, he was not awarded with enough playing time and now manager Luis Enrique has asked him to find a new club as there is no place for him in the squad, reports Sport. Barcelona are ready to hear any offers around £22 million, which Chelsea could easily meet.
To be straight forward, he will be a signing of no use for Chelsea. In case the Blues need bench warmers, he will be good for that. Diego Simeone made a smart decision by selling him to rivals Barcelona, where he was a mere bench warmer as well. He has no attribute to fit in Conte’s possible hard working line-up, neither has he have the pace nor the physicality to compete in the English Premier League.
If Chelsea still choose to sign Arda Turan, then he will be good only for filling in the reserves. Arsenal were tipped to sign Arda Turan, but with Wenger signing Granit Xhaka, who has already proved his worth and quality in EURO 2016, they are out of reasons. Road is clear for Chelsea to sign the 29-year-old.
