Chelsea are in a race to sign Lazio’s Brazilian play-maker, Felipe Anderson, reports Daily Star. The 23-year-old has been influential for Lazio since last season, when Manchester United came chasing for the midfielder, but unfortunately, Lazio waved off a £50 million bid from the Old Trafford outfit.

Anderson was impressive with Lazio in the 2015/2016 season, as he  scored 7 goals and assisted 4 times from 21 starts and 14 appearances from the bench, a total of 2,072 minutes played and 3 Man of the match performances. The Brazilian is very conservative in his approach, but very quick witted and clever while attacking. He is a young and fearless player who likes to take the game to opposition with his dribbling and long shots.

Chelsea emerge as the sole contender to sign Felipe Anderson. Lazio confirmed last year that Manchester United made the approach for him as well, but this year it is very unlikely that United will continue the chase, as they have already signed Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund.

Also, Gazza Mercato claim that a change of agent could possibly land a deal for Felipe Anderson, which could see him playing at Stamford Bridge next season.
