Belgium has been knocked out of EURO 2016 by Wales. The most expensive squad in European Championship has failed to deliver when it mattered the most.
Despite most of their players hitting the form at the right time, including the likes of Chelsea winger Eden Hazard and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Belgium failed miserably to Wales.
For Belgium, nothing could have been more prompting than Eden Hazard finding his feet in the tournament. He was at his traditional best, as he glided past Welsh players with his on and off the ball movement. He was difficult to tame for the Welsh defenders and showed menace and promise from the left wing on numerous occasions. His movement was just sublime and eye-pleasing for any one.
Hazard managed 4 assists and a goal in EURO 2016 with an astounding passing accuracy of 88.5%.
Belgium started off poorly against Italy, but hit the form at a crucial time in the tournament as they were rampant against Hungary in the round of 16. They were regarded as favourites to advance to the semi-final but were left shell-shocked.
However, what’s cheering for the Chelsea fans is to watch Hazard play in the manner and efficiency which he lacked throughout the last season. They will be desperate to see their star player running at defenses in the Stamford Bridge outfit next season in a similar way.
