West Bromwich Albion have seemingly stolen a march on Chelsea and Tottenham in the race to sign Palermo, according to reports from the Calcio News
Franco Vázquez is considered as one of the finest attackers plying their trade in the Italian Serie A at the moment and the 27-year-old enjoyed a productive campaign last term, scoring 8 goals as well as providing 6 assists in 36 appearances.
As a result, it has been no surprise whatsoever in seeing a host of clubs expressing their interest in signing Vázquez and the player himself went on to reveal that either Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur could be his next destination.
Vazquez set for West Brom move
He had said, “I will leave Palermo, my future will be 100 per cent far away from Sicily. I can confirm the words of the club president, I have no preference between Italy and the Premier League.
“I want to consider all offers. My agent is taking care of my future. I do know if my next team will be Tottenham or Chelsea.”
Recently West Bromwich Albion were also said to have joined the race to sign Vázquez and now according to reports from the Calcio News, the Baggies are close to agreeing a deal for the Italian international.
The reports state that West Brom have placed a bid of around £14.6 million for Vázquez and Palermo are ready to get the deal done ahead of June 30th, due to financial reasons.
