Premier League giants Chelsea could sell promising defender Andreas Christensen for £15million to Borussia Dortmund, according to reports from the BILD
Christensen has always been highly regarded by the Chelsea hierarchy and in order to hand the defender experience, he was allowed to join German Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach on a two year loan deal last summer.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the talented Christensen impressed at Monchengladbach and played a key role in helping the club seal a Champions League spot.
Christensen set for Chelsea exit?
As a result, many have seen Christensen as the long term replacement for John Terry at Stamford Bridge and there have been talks that the Blues could consider recalling the Danish international before his loan deal with Monchengladbach is completed at the end of next season.
In shock reports from the BILD though, it has now been claimed that Chelsea could consider cashing in on Christensen this summer.
Monchengladbach are desperate to sign Christensen on a permanent deal and having received £35million from the sale of Granit Xhaka to Arsenal, the Bundesliga side are ready to reinvest the funds by signing the Chelsea defender for £15million.
The reports emerging out of Germany claim that Chelsea are ready to sell Christensen to Monchengladbach but will put in a first refusal clause on the deal in case they want to sign the 20-year-old in the future, in a deal similar to the one involving Thorgan Hazard.
