Chelsea are confident that they will seal the deal to bring back Romelu Lukaku, according to the Evening Standard, which reports that Lukaku has made a return to Stamford Bridge a goal in order to complete ‘unfinished business’. Everton is believed to slap a £65 million price tag on their striker in order to make the most of his departure.
Romelu Lukaku signed for the Toffees in 2014 after Chelsea sold him because of his disappointing form. However, since then things have taken a U-turn for the Belgian and he has become one of the most lethal strikers in the Premier League.
Lukaku has netted 28 goals this season for Everton, but could not turn around their season. Lukaku has been impressive ever since he left Chelsea. The Blues are determined to land him at Stamford Bridge and are in a desperate need of a striker besides Diego Costa.
Lukaku has indicated his intention to move away from Everton, saying, “In my head, I have already made a decision. It’s true that English competition suits me perfectly, but there plenty of other beautiful clubs.”
Antonio Conte is expected to have a line-up with two forwards in order to make the team more lethal and aggressive on the break. Signing Lukaku will be a huge boost for Chelsea and the striker has himself admitted that he has some unfinished business at Stamford Bridge. Thus, it will be easy for Chelsea to bring him in, as long as the transfer fee is reached.
