Begovic commented on the upcoming Chelsea vs Tottenham fixture by issuing this warning to Tottenham:
“It’s difficult to get over the line when you’re doing it for the first time and hopefully we can give them a big test next Monday.”
Begovic mentions he is enthralled with the fixture, as they are ready to give a tough challenge to Pochettino’s side, who are riding high at the moment.
Begovic has performed very well this season, despite Chelsea being on the losing side for a majority of matches. The 28-year-old Bosnian has appeared in 24 games for Chelsea this season and also starred in Chelsea’s win over Bournemouth.
“I know the fans are desperate to beat Tottenham and it’s a huge game no matter what the circumstances are,” said Begovic. He believes that the win over the Cherries has given them the motivation to end the season on a high.
Nonetheless, defeating a Tottenham side who have set their eyes on the title and are in desperate need of winning every game from here on, won’t be easy for the Blues. But the return of Hazard might just ring the alarm bells for Tottenham. Pochettino cannot just write off the potential threat, as Chelsea possess the power to shatter their title dreams.
