Tottenham star rules out exit

Hugo Lloris

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has dismissed the transfer rumours that have surfaced recently about the 29-year old returning to his old club, Lyon, in France.

Lloris before arriving to Tottenham in 2012 spent five years at Lyon. Recently on international duty with France, he was quick to dismiss that he was leaving North London this summer.

“I really like Lyon but there’s not question about it. I’m very happy with Tottenham,” he said.

“We have very important games to play until the end of the season, so we’re focused on that.”

Last year Lloris’ future with Tottenham was up in the air after the Frenchman came out and expressed his desire to play Champions League football. Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen’s future at the club were also uncertain.

However this season manager Mauricio Pochettino has the Lilywhites just two points behind surprising league leaders Leicester City this season. Champions League looks almost guaranteed for Spurs next season.

The Frenchman is having a great season for Tottenham piling up 11 clean sheets in 30 total appearances. Tottenham have revamped their backline this season but Lloris is also a main reason why Tottenham concede the least amount of goals in the Premier League this season.

Lloris signed a five year contract extension with Tottenham back in 2014.

Tottenham return to action Saturday April 2nd against Liverpool.
