Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi could be on his way to White Hart Lane this summer, according to Metro.
The 21-year old is having a fantastic season at the club which has generated interest from manager Mauricio Pochettino as a supporting striker to help Harry Kane. The Italian striker is known for setting up chances for others. Last season he registered a league-high 10 assists.
Tottenham isn’t the only club interested in the striker’s talents. Reports suggest that Liverpool are keen on the Italian as well along with AC Milan and Italian giants Juventus. Berardi is a former player for the Old Lady and Juventus have a buyback option of around £14 million.
Tottenham are still desperate for another true striker to pair with Kane as they failed to go out and grab someone during the January transfer window. They’re still linked to many of the strikers they were linked to in January like Saido Berahino and Moussa Dembélé.
It could be tough for Berardi to turn down the Lilywhites since he would come in and immediately get regular minutes for the first team. Spurs also will be able to offer the young Italian Champions League football — which AC Milan and Liverpool can’t. Juventus however could very well be where Berardi ends up going in the summer.
Berardi was named Serie A’s 2014 young-player of the year. Tottenham have been scouting the striker for a couple years now and will be eager to sign him this summer.
Do you think Tottenham will land Berardi?
