Report: Chelsea linked to £66.7m striker

Conte is in a hunt for a quality striker this summer and he is behind every possible striker who can deliver tireless quality over the course of 90 minutes in each and every match. According to French daily Le10 Sport, Chelsea are in the race to sign PSG’s Edison Cavani. Unai Emery, the new PSG boss has slapped a price tag of £66.7 million to keep away any potential bidders.

Not sure about tireless work, but surely Cavani will bring experience and finishing up-front, which Chelsea lacked last season. The 29-year-old Uruguayan had a rough season at PSG and crooked relationship with ex-boss Laurent Blanc. He spent most of the time on bench and was reportedly frustrated with his playing time.

Edison Cavani will bring much needed pace to Chelsea, also, his off-the-ball movement is fantastic, which will help Chelsea’s midfielders like Fabregas and Kante to easily play balls behind the defensive lines of the opposition.

The transfer deal depends on a lot of other things, because Conte’s priority this summer have been Morata and Lukaku. If Conte fails to snatch either one of them, then he will surely do anything to sign Edison Cavani from PSG.
