Thibaut Courtois is another one of the Belgian players who is yet to display his attributes at the Euro 2016. The Chelsea shot stopper was barely troubled by the Republic of Ireland, who were already on their back foot.
Courtois’ performance has been consistent in Euro 2016, but he hasn’t been tested to his limits yet. The Belgian defense has stood firm in front of him with only a few balls passing through. Although, the match against Italy was much more of a challenge for him, as the Italians posed a greater threat.
Until now, Courtois is having a calm and steady tournament as he has conceded 2 goals in 180 minutes. Belgium seems to have found their winning touch and has to go with a belief of not looking back to how they started their tournament.
They need only a point to qualify for the knock out stages. Their last group game is against Sweden and a win would definitely guarantee them a place in the knock out stage.
