The America vs Queretaro Liga MX Week 16 match will take place this Friday, November 1, 2013 (6:30 PM Pacific) at the Estadio Corregidora in Queretaro. As you may know by now, Club America is missing 10 players, who are currently training, along with Miguel Herrera, with the Mexican National Team. On the other side, we have Queretaro, which is in desperate need of a win in order to secure a playoff spot.
Club America currently sits in first place with 35 points, three points ahead of Santos, and a long time ago secured a spot in the playoffs. Nonetheless, this diluted version of the Azulcremas still wants to achieve positive results in order to secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
In its first match after most key players left for El Tri, America played quite well and defeated Puebla 3-1. However, in the mid-week match against Tigres (making up a game from way back in week 1), Club America didn’t play so well and lost 1-0. Now, America must once again play an away game against a difficult opponent looking to secure a spot in the liguilla.
Queretaro has earned 22 points this season and sits in 8th place, with many teams following close behind. Queretaro can’t afford to lose against America, as they could be surpassed by Tigres or Veracruz.
Queretaro is the fifth best home team in the Liga MX, and they need to make that count against a weakened Club America. A win would almost certainly ensure Queretaro a spot in the playoffs.
America vs Queretaro Prediction
Queretaro has been pretty good at home, and this weakened version of Club America is a bit of a wild card. I believe it will be a tight game, but in the end, Queretaro will come up with a very important win. The America vs Queretaro match will end in a 2-1 victory for Queretaro.
