Where to Watch Canada vs Peru
A live U.S. stream is officially confirmed: Fanatiz lists Canada vs Peru as pay-per-view on its official Peru national team page. MLS’s official how-to-watch guide lists no U.S. television option, and neither federation has named an American TV partner. Some listings sites claim other U.S. streaming options, but none trace back to an official source, so this article treats them as unconfirmed rather than repeating them.
One verified U.S. note: Fubo’s official schedule lists a delayed airing of Canada vs Peru on FOX Soccer Plus on Sunday, October 4 at 10:30 AM ET. That is an encore broadcast, not the live match. This article will be updated if a live U.S. broadcast is officially confirmed.
Why This Match Matters
Canada is playing at home for the first time since its historic run to the Round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup. After beating Chile 1-0 in Toronto on September 26, Les Rouges face Peru in Montreal before closing the window against the United States on October 6 in Minnesota. These matches also serve as preparation for the Concacaf Nations League A quarterfinals in November, where Canada enters directly as a top-ranked team.
For Peru, this is the third stop on a four-match North American tour under Mano Menezes: a 4-1 loss to the United States in Orlando, a 1-1 draw with Mexico in New Jersey, and Colombia to come on October 6 in Miami. Menezes is using the trip to evaluate players and build the base for 2030 World Cup qualifying, so rotation is expected.
Canada Recent Form
All competitions, most recent last. At the 2026 World Cup, Canada reached the Round of 16 for the first time: a group stage with a 1-1 draw with Bosnia and Herzegovina, a 6-0 rout of Qatar, and a 2-1 loss to Switzerland, followed by a stoppage-time 1-0 win over South Africa in the Round of 32 and a 3-0 loss to Morocco in the Round of 16. Canada finished 14th, the best result in program history. Canada then opened the 2030 cycle with a 1-0 win over Chile on September 26 at BMO Field, Jonathan David scoring in the 12th minute against nine-man Chile.
Peru Recent Form
All competitions, most recent last. In June, Menezes’s side beat Haiti 2-1 and lost 3-1 to Spain. Peru then fell 4-1 to the United States in Orlando on September 26 before drawing 1-1 with Mexico on September 29 in New Jersey, Jairo Velez scoring in the 26th minute before Victor Guzman equalized after halftime. Ranked 50th in the world, Peru is rebuilding, with the staff prioritizing players getting regular club minutes.
Team News
Canada head coach Jesse Marsch named a 26-player squad mixing World Cup veterans with emerging talent, including 10 MLS players. Jonathan David, now with Atletico Madrid, leads the attack after scoring the winner against Chile. Dayne St. Clair, Richie Laryea, and Mathieu Choiniere are among the MLS call-ups. In Montreal, CF Montreal captain Samuel Piette will be honored in front of his home crowd after earning 69 caps for Canada since debuting at 17.
Peru’s 26-man roster blends long-serving internationals with new faces. Pedro Gallese, Andre Carrillo, Yoshimar Yotun, and Miguel Araujo provide experience, while Orlando City midfielder Wilder Cartagena has started both matches of the tour. Gianluca Lapadula returns after strong club form with Universitario, and Jairo Velez carries momentum from his goal against Mexico. Menezes has rotated heavily, so the Montreal lineup could look different from the one that faced Mexico.
What to Watch
Jonathan David’s form is the headline. The Atletico Madrid striker scored the winner against Chile last week and also scored the only goal when these teams last met, a 1-0 Canada win at the 2024 Copa America group stage. For Canada, the question is how Marsch balances the homecoming atmosphere with genuine preparation for November’s Nations League quarterfinals. For Peru, watch the rotation: a fourth match against Colombia follows three days later in Miami, so fringe players like Piero Magallanes and Oslimg Mora could get extended minutes.
Prediction
Canada 2-1 Peru. The hosts have momentum, home support, and the best player on the field, while Peru’s heavy rotation and third match in eight days should tell late.
