Where to Watch Monterrey vs Toluca
TUDN has the U.S. television rights for this friendly, confirmed in TelevisaUnivision’s September 28 programming announcement, which lists the match under its Liga MX Friendlies coverage. The network’s release has Futbol Central starting coverage at 7 PM ET ahead of the match on TUDN.
One timing note: the venue confirms a 6:30 PM CT kickoff (7:30 PM ET), while the network release lists the match in an 8 PM ET window, so check local listings on the day.
No confirmed U.S. stream exists for this match. Notably, the same TelevisaUnivision announcement explicitly names ViX for five other fixtures that weekend, from Mexico vs Peru to the Liga MX Femenil doubleheader, but not for Monterrey vs Toluca, so ViX should not be assumed. No other platform has announced the match either.
Why This Friendly Matters
This is the quickest final rematch in recent memory. Just 27 days ago, Toluca beat Monterrey 2-0 in the Leagues Cup 2026 final at this same stadium, with goals from Alexis Vega in the 4th minute and Helinho in the 70th, before a sold-out crowd of 21,144. It was the first all-Liga MX final in the competition’s modern era and Toluca’s first Leagues Cup title.
The league picture adds edge. Toluca sit top of the Apertura 2026 table with 20 points, while Monterrey are 10th with 13 points from nine games, their postponed Round 7 match against Queretaro still to be played.
With both squads expected to rotate during the FIFA window, the friendly doubles as an audition for fringe players, and as an immediate shot at revenge for Monterrey. A fan fest begins outside Shell Energy Stadium at 2 PM CT.

Team News
Concrete team news for a FIFA-window friendly is scarce, and both clubs are expected to be without their internationals. Orbelín Pineda and Víctor Guzmán are unavailable (away with the Mexico national team). Lucas Ocampos is a doubt after missing the Atlante match with a minor muscle strain (his status for tonight is unclear). No suspensions carry into a friendly.
