Where to Watch Pumas UNAM vs Tigres UANL
TelevisaUnivision confirmed this exact fixture for both TUDN and ViX in its official October programming announcement, with the broadcast beginning at 8:55 PM ET. In Spanish, the match streams live on ViX, and ViX Premium on Prime Video is the subscription path. The league’s own Layvtime YouTube channel also carries the match live and free, per its own channel announcement, though U.S. availability of that specific stream has not been independently verified. TUDN is the U.S. television option.
Why this match matters
Jornada 10 is the last round before the FIFA international break, and both teams have something real at stake. Tigres UANL sits second in Group A with 22 points from nine matches, two behind leaders Monterrey. With Rayadas facing America in the nightcap of Friday’s doubleheader, a Tigres win in Mexico City could put the Amazonas top of the group heading into the pause.
Pumas UNAM is fourth in Group B with 13 points, holding the final Liguilla berth by a single point over Atlas. The top four from each group advance, and Pumas hosts Atlas in Jornada 11 in what is already shaping up as a direct six-pointer. Dropping points at home to Group A’s second-placed side, with Atlas lurking one point back, would be a dangerous result.
Recent form: Tigres UANL
Tigres UANL’s last five league matches: three wins, one defeat, one draw (W-W-L-W-D).
- August 29, 2026: Tigres UANL 2-0 Pachuca (home)
- September 6, 2026: Tigres UANL 3-0 Santos Laguna (home)
- September 13, 2026: America 5-2 Tigres UANL (away)
- September 21, 2026: Toluca 2-7 Tigres UANL (away)
- September 27, 2026: Tigres UANL 1-1 Atletico de San Luis (home)
The 7-2 demolition of Toluca, featuring four goals from Thembi Kgatlana, showed the ceiling of this attack, which has 29 goals in nine matches. But the last two results have been shaky: a 5-2 thrashing at America and a home draw with Atletico San Luis in which Tigres finished with ten players. The defense that conceded six goals in its last two matches needs to tighten up.
Recent form: Pumas UNAM
Pumas UNAM’s last five league matches: one win, two defeats, one win, one draw (W-L-L-W-D).
- August 30, 2026: Guadalajara 0-2 Pumas UNAM (away)
- September 4, 2026: Pumas UNAM 1-2 America (home)
- September 11, 2026: Cruz Azul 3-2 Pumas UNAM (away)
- September 20, 2026: Pumas UNAM 2-0 Puebla (home)
- September 28, 2026: Atlante 0-0 Pumas UNAM (away)
Pumas has been hard to beat but short on goals, with two scored in the last two matches. The 2-0 home win over Puebla, with goals from Ana Mendoza and Stephanie Ribeiro, is the template: compact, organized, and efficient. Captain Andrea Pereira has stressed concentration and defensive order as the keys, and against Tigres’ firepower, that discipline will be tested for 90 minutes.
Team news
Tigres will be without two players. Natalia Coury is suspended after being sent off on a second yellow late in the draw with Atletico de San Luis, and Tatiana Flores is out after undergoing surgery on a fractured fifth metatarsal in her left foot; Tigres’ official medical report rules her out of Friday’s match with no set return timeline. No credible injury or suspension news surfaced for Pumas, who are expected at full strength under head coach Roberto Medina.
What to watch
The matchup is attack against structure. Tigres has scored 29 goals in nine matches, the second-best attack in Group A behind Monterrey, while Pumas has built its Liguilla push on organization, conceding 14 in nine. With Coury suspended and Flores injured, Tigres is missing two attacking pieces, which narrows the gap slightly and puts more creative responsibility on Kgatlana and Maricarmen Reyes.
Pumas’ best chance is the set piece and the counter. Stephanie Ribeiro has been the reliable finisher, and at home in the Olimpico Universitario, with the crowd behind a team fighting for its Liguilla life, the hosts will not lack motivation. But recent history in this fixture is one-sided, and Tigres has made a habit of scoring in bunches against Pumas.
Head to head
Recent meetings have been dominated by Tigres. In the Clausura 2026 regular season, Tigres won 2-0 at the Estadio Olimpico Universitario. In the Apertura 2025 regular season, Tigres won 5-1 at home. In the Apertura 2024 Liguilla quarterfinals, the sides drew 0-0 in Mexico City before Tigres won 7-1 at home. In the Apertura 2023 Liguilla quarterfinals, Tigres won 3-1 in Mexico City. Pumas’ most recent win in the fixture was 2-0 at home in the Clausura 2025 regular season.
Prediction
Prediction: Pumas UNAM 0-2 Tigres UANL. Tigres’ dominance of this fixture is overwhelming, and even shorthanded, the visitors have too much attacking quality; Pumas’ recent goal shortage makes an upset hard to see.
