In the first leg of the Corinthians vs Sao Paulo series at the Estadio Morumbi, Corinthians was the slightly better team and won the game 2-1.  On Wednesday, they will host their close rivals where a tie will give them title for the continental monarch.  The team coached by Tite has various advantage coming into the game which has Corinthians as the clear favorite.  First, Corinthians won their match ‘away’, which now means they will have the support of their fans and the tranquility oh being ahead in the score.  Second, with a tie by any amount of goals, or a win will crown them Recopa champions.  Lastly, the Sao Paulo that won the Copa Sudamericana 2012 is in a very different form that they currently are in.  After eight games in the Brasileirao, Sao Paulo has only achieved 8 points; very low for a top Brazilian team.

Sao Paulo goes into the Pacaembu knowing that they are not in a good moment, and that their defense has much to improve.  In their domestic league they have allowed 10 goals after 8 matches, and in the first leg against Corinthians both goals were due to defensive miscues.  Another setback for the team coached by Paulo Autuori is the possible absence of  top midfielder Jadson.
