This Saturday, March 12, 2022, (7:00 p.m. Pacific) Chivas will play Club America in another edition of the Mexican “Superclasico”. Alexis Vega is set to return for Chivas after serving a two-match ban, which is excellent news for Los Rojiblancos.

Vega has been without a doubt the best player for Chivas this season, currently with four goals and an assist in seven games played. The Jalisco-based team has done well without Vega, scoring three goals in two games, but the scoring potential is far greater with him on the field.

The 24-year-old forward is considered by many to be the best Mexican player in the Liga MX and he does have the potential to move on to Europe. Vega has speed, dribbling, a nice shot and a potent scoring ability.

The Mexican forward has also already been impressive in several important games for Chivas, despite his age. Vega has notably done better in the “Clasico Tapatio” against Atlas, but this is a vital game for Chivas and the Mexico City native.

Los Tapatios are coming into this game as favorites against Club America and a loss against the last-place team at home will be humiliating for Chivas. Vega will need to work with Roberto Alvarado, Jesus Angulo and Sebastian Perez Bouquet.

His chemistry with 18-year-old Perez Bouquet will be particularly intriguing as the pair have not played together from the start of a match and will now potentially start alongside each other in a “Clasico Nacional”.
