This Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Club America will face Queretaro at the Estadio Azteca in the eighth round of matches in the Liga MX 2022 Clausura season. Manager Santiago Solari is on the hot seat as Las Aguilas currently sit in penultimate place with just five points from seven games played.
The Mexico City team has specifically struggled to perform at home in the Estadio Azteca with three losses from three games played at the historic stadium. Anything but a win is unacceptable for Club America and Santiago Solari as Queretaro has not been a great team this season.
Queretaro is currently sitting in 11th place with seven points and is winless away from home. A win for Club America has the potential to propel the capital city team to ninth place on the table and really start to turn the season around.
While several Club America fans are hoping that Solari does not continue with Los Azzulcremas, the front office has surprisingly shown a great deal of patience. The Mexico City side is coming off a scoreless bout against Pumas UNAM as the offense has proven to be highly inconsistent this season.
Henry Martin will be back for this match against Queretaro after missing out on the Pumas UNAM match due to fitness issues. Solari will be banking on Martin and the Club America offense to get the win at the Estadio Azteca to try and keep his project going.
