The Liga MX has decided that the COVID-19 levels in Mexico are now appropriate for fans to return to Liga MX stadiums to enjoy Liga MX games in person. The Liga MX has decided to allow a maximum capacity of 50%, though it is ultimately up to each municipal and state government to decide if allowing fans in the stands is safe, and if so at what capacity.

Mazatlan FC and Necaxa have already stated that they will have fans at their stadiums for their upcoming matches, to be held on October 16. Mazatlan FC will host Juarez, where the state government has decreed that the stadium must hold no more than 30% capacity. The Liga MX will also have protocols in place for the safety of fans.

Necaxa has stated that they will allow fans when they host Xolos Tijuana, though they have not announced what stadium capacity the local government will allow.

Major cities across Mexico, such as Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey are facing higher levels of the Pandemic, and local governments have yet to approve any mass gatherings, such as soccer matches.

Although the Liga MX will now allow fans in the stadiums, we shall see if further local governments follow suit and allow fans in the stands.
