Chivas de Guadalajara was having a solid 2020 Clausura season before it was canceled as Los Rojiblancos were in fifth place with 16 points in 10 games. Chivas had defeated Atlas 2-1 in the 2020 Clausura and are the favorites in this match at home.
Los Tapatios have not been active in the current transfer market as the biggest addition so far is striker Angel Zaldivar coming back from loan. There have been several rumors surrounding players like JJ Macias, but it seems that the young striker will stay at Chivas.
Atlas has been busier in the current window losing Ulises Cardona to Tigres and Ismael Govea to Santos Laguna. Los Rojinegros are set to acquire Renato Ibarra from Club America and Ignacio Malcorra from Pumas UNAM, but neither signing has been made official.
Los Zorros will be an interesting team if the signings of Malcorra and Ibarra go through, but as of now do not have a better squad than Chivas. The team management under Rafael Puente Jr. is also questionable at best as he has struggled in his early days in Guadalajara.
