Angel Reyna finally finds team, joins Veracruz

The Angel Reyna saga has finally ended, and the problematic, yet highly talented Mexican midfielder will join the Tiburones Rojos of Veracruz.  The ‘bomb’ signing was announced by Veracruz President Fidel Kuri via a Twitter picture in which he is seen sitting down with the star.  Reyna played last season with Pachuca, but his card was owned by Monterrey.

The Tiburos Rojos are once again in the first division after buying the rights to La Piedad who won promotion into the Liga MX last season.  Nonetheless, Veracruz is a team with a low capital, therefore they have had problems during the offseason with finding enough players to create a first division caliber squad.  Before Reyna, they signed Luis Tejada, Leiton Jimenez, Oscar Mascorro, Jehu Chiapas, Christian Marrugo, and Adrian Cortes.  Many players, but not enough talent to create a team strong enough to remain in the category.

How will Angel Reyna Improve Veracruz?

With Reyna’s incorporation, the team coached by Juan Antonio Luna now has a star, and a go-to player.  The attacking midfielder can play as a number ’10’ right behind the forwards, on the wings, or even as a deep center midfielder.  He can be a game-changer, and maybe, he will even allow Veracruz to survive the relegation battle.
