The Liga MX starts back up in less than a month as teams are starting to make transfers ahead of the 2020 Apertura. Atletico San Luis has been active in this transfer window adding veteran winger Pablo Barrera and more recently adding star striker Mauro Quiroga.
Los Potosinos announced the signing of Quiroga this past Thursday, June 25, as the Argentine will be a big boost to their offense. San Luis also announced the signing of centre-back Rodrigo Noya from Necaxa, along with Quiroga.
Before playing in Mexico, Quiroga had played with several teams in South America, his last being Curcio Unido from Chile. The 30-year-old forward had been phenomenal with Necaxa as he scored 12 goals in his debut 2019 Apertura season.
Quiroga had been very effective in this past 2020 Clausura season as he scored five goals in 10 games. “El Comandante” stands in at 6-foot-2 and is lethal inside of the penalty area, specifically with his aerial abilities.

San Luis has other strikers with similar capabilities on its roster, but Quiroga is by far the best now. Necaxa has been depleted with this move and it will be interesting to see what the team from Aguascalientes does to improve after this.
