The Mexico vs St Kitts and Navis Women’s Olympic Qualifier match will take place this Saturday, February 1, 2020 (12:00 PM Pacific) at the H-E-B Park (USA).
Mexico started off Group B play with a narrow 1-0 victory over Jamaica, a key win that basically assures them a spot in the knockout stage. St Kitts and Navis did not have a good start, being crushed by Canada in an 11-0 defeat.
The St Kitts team made it to the Olympic Qualifier after passing through the Caribbean pre-Qualifier, however, at this stage they appear to be completely over matched. Mexico should be able to cruise past them with an easy victory.
Canada and Mexico will likely be the two teams that make it past the Group B stage, however, the 2nd placed team will face the powerful USWMNT in the vital semi-final match that decided who goes to the Summer Olympics. Thus, it is imperative Mexico not only win today, but must defeat Canada in order to avoid the USWMNT.
