The Liga MX 2019 Clausura season is now in full swing and with another season comes another wave of young talent that could emerge. The reinstated youth minutes rule forced Liga MX teams to give minutes to young Mexican players last season and some promising players came from it.
This season the rule is still in effect and some young Mexican players have already begun to stand out in the first week of play. Here are three young Mexican players that shined in Week 1 of the 2019 Clausura tournament.
Aldhair Molina
Puebla played to a 1-1 draw at the Estadio Cuauhtemoc against Cruz Azul and Aldhair Molina had an impressive Liga MX debut down the left flank. The 19-year-old fullback had just one clearance in the match, but was very impactful going forward. Molina finished the clash with two accurate crosses, two successful dribbles and took some of the set-pieces as well.
Carlos Rodriguez
Rodriguez had one of the most impressive performances of the weekend by any player in the league. The 22-year-old midfielder was key in Monterrey’s 5-0 win against Pachuca as he had two assists in the clash. The Nuevo Leon native also had an 83-percent pass accuracy, three key passes, four accurate long balls and two interceptions.

Sebastian Jurado
Veracruz had an impressive 0-0 draw against Pumas UNAM away from home and the effort was in large part due to the young goalkeeper Sebastian Jurado. The 21-year-old finished the match with five total saves and Los Escualos would have lost if it was not for him.
