Liverpool recorded their third consecutive victory of the new Premier League season as they earned a 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

Alisson was brought into the Reds’ first-team during the summer transfer window in order to solve the goalkeeping problems at the club.

So far, the Brazilian has started life in England on a bang, as he has kept three clean sheets during the three League games that he has played thus far. Alisson produced a brilliant save on Saturday to deny Pascal Gross.

Last season’s first-choice keeper, Loris Karius, has since joined Besiktas on loan. It is unlikely that Karius will have any future with Jurgen Klopp’s side. While he did produce some decent performances in goal last season, he had a horrendous night during the Champions League final against Real Madrid, as he gifted the Spanish giants two goals.

During his time with Roma, Alisson developed a reputation as one of the world’s best goalkeepers. He has only been at Liverpool for a short time, but is already looking like he was money well-spent.

If Alisson keeps up his current form, there could certainly be plenty of exciting times ahead for Klopp’s side.

While reflecting on the impact that Alisson has already had at Anfield, his team-mate Andy Robertson told the Liverpool website: “He’s been brilliant since he came in,”

“He’s a real presence at the back, you can see him coming out for corners and crosses and you’ve seen his wee chip got applause from the crowd, but I’m not sure if the gaffer wants to see that too many times.

“But fair play to him and that’s the confidence he’s playing with and it breeds onto the defence. When we needed him he came alive and palmed it away. Fair play to him so far, he’ll be delighted with three clean sheets and long may it continue.”
