Is this why Everton’s campaign is in danger despite the victory over Crystal Palace?

Everton secured their 2nd win of the year in style, bouncing back from their 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Arsenal last weekend to get a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at the Goodison Park.

The Toffees are in line for a top 7 finish as they are now only 2 points behind Burnley, but their latest injury crisis could deal a huge blow on their chances.

Idrissa Gueye, Eliaquim Mangala and Seamus Coleman were all withdrawn during Saturday’s victory, and missing them will be a source of worry for manager Sam Allardyce.

The Senegalese defensive midfielder picked up a minor injury, while the Manchester City loanee suffered a knock to his knee.

Playing only his 2nd game since returning from a 10-month injury layoff due to a double fracture, Coleman appeared to have suffered a muscle injury, leading to his withdrawal at the start of the 2nd half.

The Everton boss revealed post game of the Irishman’s injury scare: “Seamus will go for a scan tomorrow. It is more his muscle than to do with his [broken] leg.”

The Merseysiders aren’t back in action until 2 weeks’ time, and that could be enough time for the aforementioned injured trio to recover.

However, losing them for long could derail a campaign that is starting to get back on track again after a 2nd victory in 10 games was secured.
