Liverpool reportedly set to beat EPL rivals for French star

The British portal, Football London, have reported that Liverpool are in front of Arsenal in the race for the highly-rated AS Monaco playmaker Thomas Lemar, who has recently rejected to extend his contract with the French giants.

The Gunners were close to completing the transfer of the 22-year-old forward last summer when Monaco accepted their £90 million offer, but the player eventually decided to stay in France and wait for the Reds.

Although Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim has given his best to keep Lemar this winter, it would be almost impossible for him to prevent the summer transfer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, on the other hand, has become well aware that Arsenal can’t compete in the Premier League without spending big.

Lemar has clear intention to join the Merseysiders at the end of the season, and Jurgen Klopp is looking to fulfill his dream.

However, the London side won’t back off, as Arsenal boss has great affection for the French players, and he is set to give Klopp a hard time.
