According to reports, Liverpool and Arsenal are currently leading AC Milan in the race to sign Max Meyer from Schalke.
The 22-year-old is expected to leave Schalke at the end of the season and will surely attract interest from big clubs, considering the ability that he has shown.
Reds boss JurgenKlopp is known to be an admirer of the player while Arsene Wenger is still looking to strengthen his midfield having added Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mesut Ozil to his squad.
AC Milan have also been linked as they look to re-establish themselves as a giant of European football.
Calciomercato, however have reported that the player prefers his next club to be in England and this could give Arsenal and Liverpool and advantage in the race to sign him.
Meyer has not been in the best of form this season, however he is still young and is regarded as one of the best up and coming talents in Europe.
