Everton and Liverpool reportedly looking to win 7-way battle for 24-year-old

As per German news outlet Bild, Everton and Liverpool are amongst the many suitors interested in the services of Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay.

Arsenal, AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Schalke and Borussia Dortmund are also all keen on the 24-year-old who has played his way into the star-studded German national team.

Demirbay’s £28million release clause makes him a bargain given his top quality, and the Bundesliga side are looking to renew his contract before it’s too late.

Liverpool are yet to recover from the exit of Philippe Coutinho, and while the German isn’t a direct replacement, his technical ability on the ball makes him a genius in the making.

Demirbay has weighed in 2 goals and 4 assists this term, and has been Hoffenheim’s creator-in-chief thus far.

Everton could do with a top creative midfield despite the plethora of options available to manager Sam Allardyce in the department, and the former Hamburger SV man would make a perfect signing.

Could a Merseyside clash on Demirbay could be on the cards by summer?
