As per Turkish outlet Fotospor, former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri is in talks with Serie A side Benevento, and he is expected to link up with the bottomrock league strugglers soon.
West Ham are one of the clubs said to have registered interest in the 30-year-old Frenchman who’s currently a free agent after leaving Turkish outfit Antalyaspor just 5 months into his 2-year contract.
Nasri is able to sign for any club at the moment despite the closure of the window, but he’s more open to moving to Italy than returning to London.
The Premier League winner spent last season on loan at the La Liga with Sevilla before Manchester City allowed him leave for £3.2million last summer.
Nasri’s wage demands could be an issue for West Ham as he was on £125,000 per week at the Etihad.
Although Manager David Moyes brought in Portugal international Joao Mario on loan from Inter Milan, it can’t be denied that the topflight experience of the French star, who racked up 2 goals in his most recent 8 league appearance, might come handy for a West Ham side struggling for creativity.
