Liverpool reportedly looking to steal quality midfielder from EPL rivals

According to The Sun, Liverpool will try to bring Jack Wilshere to Anfield next summer, in case he refuses to extend his contract with Arsenal.

The 26-year-old star has been struggling with injuries over the last couple of seasons, failing out of manager Arsene Wenger’s plans.

After spending last season on loan at Bournemouth, the former England international returned to the Emirates hoping to fight his place in the starting eleven.

Following some encouraging performances in the Europa League, the left-footed midfielder has increased his chances of a contract extension.

However, the Gunners are willing to renew Wilshere’s deal only if he accepts to reduce his £90,000-a-week salary.

The Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is waiting for the right opportunity to strike the deal, as Emre Can seems destined to leave England at the end of the current campaign.

Wilshere could reunite with his former teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who joined the Merseysiders last summer.
