According to the Bleacher Sport, Lyon star Nabil Fekir has stressed Liverpool haven’t approached him during the winter transfer window, despite some media in the UK stated the left-footed forward as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho.
After Alexandre Lacazette and Corentin Tolisso left the Groupama Stadium last summer, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder has emerged as club’s key man.
Following some terrific performances Fekir has provided this season, including a spectacular free-kick goal scored against Paris Saint-Germain, the France international has been linked with a move to Anfield.
However, it appears that the Reds hesitated to send an official offer, and the highly-rated forward eventually remained in France.
“Yeah, I heard,” the Lyon captain said. “I heard, but there was never anything concrete.”
Along with Memphis Depay and Mariano Diaz, Fekir has been outstanding this season, leading his team in the Champions League promotion race. If he keeps playing at a high-level, Jurgen Klopp could consider signing him over the expensive Thomas Lemar.
