Thomas Christiansen hints at end of transfer activity for Leeds United

The Daily Express have broadcasted the words of the Leeds United chief of staff Thomas Christiansen saying the Whites won’t bring any new players on the deadline day.

Leeds have already brought six players this January spending £7 million in total. However, only Adam Forshaw and Laurens De Bock are going to join the first-team, while Aapo Halme and Pascal Struijk are expected to feature for Leeds U-23 team.

Thomas Christiansen has been trying to bring a new striker to Elland Road for months, but as things stand, he will have to wait until the summer. The 44-year-old coach has claimed that he is satisfied with the new signings and the players at his disposal.

Answering the question regarding the potential last-minute signing, he said: “Well, this you have to speak to Victor about that. Victor with the board make the decision about what is possible.

“Of course, I will get the information when they have found one, but right now this is the situation. I believe in the players that I have, and I will do the best that I have.”

The club’s transfer policy of signing talented youngsters to bolster the youth sector has frustrated their supporters, who seem to disagree with the management.

Yet, Andy Lonergan is close to complete his move to Sunderland, which may force Leeds to intervene on the market, with Emiliano Martinez stated as a potential candidate.
