Leeds reportedly interested in signing Nigerian attacker

According to a report published by Italian source Tuttomercatoweb, Leeds United are interested in signing Nigerian striker Jerry Mbakogu from Italian side Carpi after scouts from the Championship club were spotted watching the player in action at the Stadio Sandro Cabassi.

Carpi ended up winning the game 2-1, with Mbakogu getting on the scoresheet and notching his seventh goal in 19 appearances this season.

Carpi however do not want to part ways with Mbakogu at this point in time, and the Whites may have to wait till the end of the season if they wish to complete a possible deal.

It is quite obvious that Leeds need extra firepower up front with Pierre-Michel Lasogga currently in poor form and KemarRoofe and SamuSaiz the only options.

Mbakogu is confident as can be seen by his ability to find the back of the net in the Serie B and he could bolster the Leeds attack.
