According to Sky Sports, West Ham United target and Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney is willing to move to the London Stadium before the January transfer window ends, but the west London club are blocking a move.
The Hammers are ready to part with £15million for the services of the 27-year-old, but Fulham don’t want to lose their skipper or any other key player as they push for Premier League promotion.
The east London outfit manager David Moyes wants reinforcements in the middle of the park, and his side’s lack of depth in the department was highlighted as they crashed out in the F.A Cup at the hands of League One’s Wigan Athletic.
It remains to be seen if West Ham will continue to push for the signature of Cairney, who has 22 goals in 111 matches for Fulham, but they have very little time left to get a deal over the line.
The attacking midfielder has been one of the stand-out stars of the Championship in recent seasons, and despite just extending his Craven Cottage stay until 2021 last summer, he could push for an exit at the end of the campaign if Fulham fail in their bid for promotion.
