According to the Daily Mail, West Ham want to bring Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney to the London Stadium before the end of the January transfer window, but they face competition from West Brom.
The £15million-rated Cottagers’ skipper has been in excellent form for the Championship side since last season, and his form has since earned him a senior team debut with Scotland.
Another midfielder remains top of the agenda for manager David Moyes before the window slams shut next Wednesday, and Cairney could be a perfect addition going forward.
Although he has returned just a goal and 3 assists in 18 appearances this term, an impressive record of 13 goals and 12 assists in 51 games from the former Blackburn man last term suggests he has a lot in the thank.
Newcastle were also linked with Cairney at the beginning of the window, but are financially limited to pursue a deal.
The Scot would help provide quality cover and competition at London Stadium if signed, with his overall technical abilities hinting at a possible success in the topflight.
