According to a report published by the Sun, West Ham are lining up a move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.
Sturridge dropped down the pecking order at the Reds this season behind Roberto Firmino and he is keen to move on this month in order to play more regularly and boost his chances of winning selection to the England squad which will travel to the 2018 World Cup.
Liverpool are reportedly allowing Sturridge to leave this month for a loan fee of £5 million but also want to include a clause in the contract which will see a move being made permanent for £25 million during the summer.
The Hammers are currently experiencing a crisis up front with Andy Caroll, Marko Arnautovic and Diafra Sakho all out of action through injury.
It will be a worthwhile gamble from their point of view to sign Sturridge as he has plenty of experience at the highest level and is a proven goal scorer.
