Everton reportedly looking to make ambitious swoop from Bayern Munich

Everton are reportedly considering a move for Bayern Munich’s Juan Bernat to solve their left-back problem.

Leighton Baines has been struggling with injuries this season and at 33-years-old, it is likely that he has past his peak and will not be able to go for much longer at the highest level.

Brendan Galloway is currently on loan at Sunderland but so far has failed to convince that he is cut out to play in the Premier League.

Filling in at left-back has been Cuco Martina. However he is a natural right-back and has put in a number of unconvincing performances in his unfamiliar role.

Bernat joined Munich in 2014 and has gone on to make 47 appearances in all competitions for the German giants.

However he has dropped down the pecking order at the club this season and has gone on to make just two appearances for the club this season.

Bernat’s future looks likely to be elsewhere as it looks unlikely that he will be able to usurp David Alaba anytime soon.
