Liverpool reportedly ready to allow prospect to join Championship strugglers

Liverpool will reportedly allow youngster Ben Woodburn to join Sunderland on loan.

Black Cats manager Chris Coleman is desperate to add Woodburn to his side as soon as possible but Jurgen Klopp is refusing to let the move go-ahead straightaway as he is assessing his attacking options after losing Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in a £142 million switch.

Despite becoming Liverpool’s youngest ever goal scorer in 2016, Woodburn’s development has been stunted this season as he has only made one Liverpool senior appearance.

This has also been due to good form from the likes of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah while fellow youngster Dominic Solanke also sits above him in the clubs pecking order.

It was Coleman who handed Woodburn his international debut for Wales in September and the youngster repaid the faith shown in him by scoring a spectacular goal against Austria during that game.

Sunderland have no money to spend and are hoping to bring in players on loan as they look to avoid relegation to League One.
