Championship side Fulham are believed to be looking to reinvest the money received from the potential sale of Tom Crainey to sign Newcastle forward Dwight Gayle, according to the Chronicle.
Fulham have been looking to sign a new forward during the current January transfer window but have failed to make the desired signings so far due to a lack of funds.
The Cottagers have been trying to raise the money for a new forward with little success over the past few weeks but just when it looked very likely that the Championship side would not be able to sign a new forward this window, they have been offered an outlet by Premier League side West Brom.
It has been reported that the Baggies are looking to sign Fulham’s Tom Craniey and are willing to pay the £20 million asking price for the midfielder.
This means that the Cottagers will have the required funds to sign a high profile striker this window and Newcastle’s Dwight Gayle is regarded as the ideal candidate for the Championship side.
