Newcastle boss Benitez reveals talks with talents

Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has revealed that his club are “talking with talents” but added that he is still unsure about how much of money the club’s board will grant him this month as they aim to avoid relegation during the second half of the season.

Benitez has had conversations with the clubs managing director Lee Charnley as well as club owner Mike Ashley about the possibility of bringing in new players this month.

Speaking ahead of his sides clash against fellow strugglers Swansea City, Benitez was asked about the possibility of his club bringing in new faces this month.

He said: “The last time we (him and Ashley) talked, we talked about different players and trying to move forward. I talk to Lee Charnley everyday, but no idea (on any budget) but still working.”

The Spaniard also said that his club will not sell any first team players unless they are readily able to bring in replacements.
