Giants reportedly make contact over shock move for West Ham flop

Manchester United have reportedly made contact with West Ham over a possible move for striker Javier Hernandez. Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen his attack this month and is looking for back-up options.

Hernandez who played for United between 2010 and 2015 is understood to now be available for repurchase despite having only joined West Ham during the summer as he has failed to find the net regularly following his £16 million move.

Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are United’s current recognized striker options with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford also being able to play through the middle.

The salary package that he could receive at United is likely to be something that could appeal to Hernandez.

However it remains to be seen if he will be willing to serve as a back-up option especially as the world cup is coming up and he will want to start for the Mexican national team.
