As per Sky Sports, Everton are very much keen on bringing Lille centre-back Adama Soumaoro to the Goodison Park this month as manager Sam Allardyce’s reinforcement plans continue.
The erstwhile England boss has had the £18million-rated French defender, who is capable of playing across the back four, on his radar since his Sunderland days, and it seems he could finally be landing his man soon.
Soumaoro, 25, is also being targeted by a couple of suitors, with West Ham also an admirer.
Despite only recently returning to action having missed the beginning of the season to an Achilles injury, the ball-playing defender is also attracting Borussia Dortmund and Monaco.
The Toffees can do with Soumaoro’s versatility given their need for a left-back, an experienced right-back and quality backups in central defence.
Lille are looking to balance the books and will most likely let their star go if his asking price is met, and from the look of things, Everton are ready to splash the cash in order to strengthen at the back.
